Finally purchased some Philips Hue lights, I like them

Recently, we started putting up Christmas decorations at our house, and one thing that was never fixed is the fact that we have three light fixtures at the front of the house, but only 2 smart lights. Because of this, the last few years, there has only been one light on the porch, and one light in the driveway post.

This has always looked a little odd, especially around Christmas time when that side of the porch isn't lit up with a matching color.

So, I decided to do some research on Wi-Fi smart bulbs. I initially wanted Philips Hue lights, but unfortunately, I couldn't stomach the $200 starter kit price tag, which included the hub and four lights. So, I had to settle with Wi-Fi bulbs.

Luckily, though, when looking at the smart bulb section at Target, they ended up having all of their Philips Hue starter kits marked down to $59.99, from their original $199.99 price tag! Seeing how the Wi-Fi bulbs I was planning on purchasing would end up being just shy of $50, I decided to splurge, and purchase two starter kits. 8 lights and 2 hubs for $120? Definitely a "deal" in terms of the original prices.

Anyways, got them home, set up, and good to go, and I definitely love their lighting quality over the couple Wi-Fi bulbs I have had (Merkury and GE Cync).

However, I do have the same issue with them as I did with the Wi-Fi bulbs, the hub still requires an internet connection. So, my next step is getting around to purchasing a Homeassistant Yellow, or a Raspberry Pi 4/5 with a Conbee II Zigbee controller, and replacing the Hue Hub altogether. But, that will have to wait, as I kind of burned through my spending budget on the lights :P.
