Revisiting an MMO from my childhood

Massive Multiplayer Online games, or MMOs for short, have been a part of my gaming life for many, many years.

From playing Pokemon Crater at my local library, to Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV, the MMO genre has been my main choice when selecting games to play.

One of the MMOs I used to play back in my childhood was Maplestory.

Maplestory was one of my most favorite MMOs that I played, and although the game is vastly different now, than it was like back when I first started playing it, there is something about big numbers flying across the screen as you mass obliterate monsters that is interesting.

Over the weekend, I came across some Maplestory videos on YouTube and decided to take a look at the game again. I learned that the level cap is now 300, and they released 5th job advancements in the game.

I ended up downloading the game on Saturday, and have been playing it since.

All you pretty much do in the game is obliterate monsters, level up, get stronger gear/skills, and do even bigger numbers to obliterate even stronger monsters.

But, there is something about it right now that is making it fun and nostalgic.

So, for the time being, I will be playing Maplestory.
